Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

What health data Unrotten collects and why, who receives it, and how to use your rights.
Effective October 6, 2026

This policy

This policy covers Unrotten, the iPhone app made by North Ventures LLC (“we”), for people in Washington, Nevada and other places whose laws protect consumer health data. Our full Privacy Policy is at unrotten.app/privacy.

What we collect and why

  • Apple Health data you allow us to read: steps, walking and running distance, active energy, exercise and move minutes, workouts, sleep, heart rate variability and mindful minutes.
  • What you log or do in Unrotten: the nights, workouts and breathing sessions you enter or complete, which we also save to Apple Health when you ask us to.
  • What you tell the Coach: your messages, voice notes and saved memories, which can include anything about your health or wellbeing you choose to share.
  • What we work out from these: your sleep score, MindBattery™ recovery and goal results, including how your phone use affects them.

We use this data only to provide the features you use (your scores, goals, Insights and Coach), to keep Unrotten secure and to meet legal obligations. We never use it for advertising, never sell it and never include it in our usage analytics.

Where it comes from

  • Apple Health on your iPhone, for the data types you allow in Apple’s permission sheet.
  • You, when you log a night or a workout, breathe, or write or speak to the Coach.
  • Unrotten, which works out the scores and results above.

Who receives it

We do not share consumer health data with third parties or affiliates, and we do not sell it. To run the features you use, we disclose it only to service providers that process it on our behalf and on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare hosts our service, which keeps your Lock Screen Live Activity current and prepares the Coach’s messages.
  • OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes requests to, including Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen and OpenAI, receive what the Coach needs for a reply, a Home message, a check-in, a nudge or an Insights analysis, only with your AI permission.
  • TypeSafe receives your current and previous Coach message to choose relevant context, only with your AI permission.

Apple processes Apple Health data and notifications on your iPhone. RevenueCat, which manages memberships, and Google Analytics, which measures app usage, receive no consumer health data.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and give you access to it, with a list of the service providers that received it;
  • delete it from our records and pass your request on to our service providers (copies in backups are deleted within six months);
  • stop collecting or sharing it under a consent you withdraw.

Send a request from Unrotten (Settings → Privacy → Your data → Request access or deletion) or by email to support@unrotten.app. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from your installation of the app. We answer within 45 days, and if we need up to 45 more days we tell you why within the first 45. Requests are free up to twice a year.

If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We decide within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General (atg.wa.gov) or the Nevada Attorney General (ag.nv.gov).

Changes

We post any change to this policy here with its effective date. Before using consumer health data in a materially different way, we ask for your consent.
